Members of the Huntington Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Station 75 were performing a hydrant detail when their truck was hit by another vehicle while turning onto Haig Boulevard in Pohatcong around 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 2, according to a post on the station’s Facebook page.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries in the crash, which fully disabled the engine, authorities said.

“We would like to reach out to everyone and thank you all for your concern for our fire company,” the post said.

Meanwhile, the department asks for residents’ help in keeping hydrants clear of snow.

“We also URGE our Township residents please take care of the fire hydrants in your neighborhood! the department said. “It will make our job easier to save you and your property!”
